Centre for Building Studies
The Centre for Building Studies (CBS) is a research centre whose goal is to conduct research that contributes to the building construction industry and that leads to buildings that are more energy efficient, comfortable, healthy, safe, and responsive to their inhabitants.
acoustics, aerodynamics, building, Building envelopes, building materials, energy conservation, engineering, heating, HVAC., lighting, solar energy, ventilation
- The Centre is divided into the following research areas: Construction engineering and management; Solar energy engineering, energy efficiency; Building envelope; Building materials; Building science and acoustics; Indoor air quality; HVAC and control systems; Energy efficiency. Each area is the responsibility of a professor (except for Building envelope which has two professors). At the bottom of the home web page there is an alphabetical listing of professors under CBS Members. Clicking on the name of the professor, takes the client to an individual web page for each professor. Along with biographic information and office location, the web page contains chronological bibliographic citations for the works of each professor. Biographic, research and publication information for additional faculty of the Centre can be found under the Faculty and Staff tab.
- The Research areas are divided into the following Research Laboratories: Building Acoustic Laboratory; Building Aerodynamics Laboratory; Building Envelope Performance Environmental Chamber; Building Materials Laboratory; Construction Engineering and Management; Solar Efficiency in Buildings; IAQ and Ventilation Laboratory; Solar Energy and Lighting; Structures Laboratory; Thermal Analysis Laboratory; Thermal Environment and HVAC Control Laboratory. This alphabetical listing of Research Laboratories follows the listing of CBS Members. Clicking on the name of the laboratory takes you to a web page for each laboratory. Each web page contains contact and location information for the laboratory as well as a brief description of research activities carried out. There is no link to published or non-published works of the laboratories.
