To develop research and community-based policy solutions to the problems of urban health and health disparities by
--identifying and advancing practical and achievable policy alternatives and solutions to pressing issues of urban health
--funding research on the social determinants of health and health disparities, focusing on the relationships between health and housing, poverty and income distribution, social exclusion and other social and economic inequalities
--supporting community engagement and capacity building
--working in partnerships locally, nationally and internationally, to support social and policy change to address the impact of the social determinants of health
Formal partners: Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (USA), WZB (policy research institute in Germany), University of Victoria, University of Toronto's Public Policy Faculty, Canadian Policy Research Network
Also projects with the National Coalition on Housing and Homelessness, the Habitat International Coalition, Housing Action Now and GTA Community Health Centres
