CISTI's headquarters in Ottawa houses one of the world's most comprehensive collections of publications in science, technology, engineering and medicine. Included in this collection is a large body of literature pertaining to residential construction materials, systems and methods.
CISTI began over 75 years ago as the library of the National Research Council of Canada, the leading agency for research and development in Canada, and became the National Science Library in 1957. The change to CISTI came in 1974 to reflect the wide scope of services provided and the increasing role in the development of electronic information products and services for the scientific and technical community.
CISTI's collection of more than 50,000 serial titles and more than 600,000 books, technical reports and conference proceedings in science, technology, engineering and medicine can be searched using the CISTI library catalogue. You can also use the library catalogue to search the collection of the Canadian Agriculture Library (CAL), the collections of CISTI's Asian Partners and the CISTI-Myilibrary eBook Loans collection.
