Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) Housing and Homelessness Research
Since 2003 HRM staff has been involved in research, outreach and facilitation activities related to housing and homelessness. On this page you will find links to reports published by HRM as well as several produced by some of their community partners. The Community Action on Homelessness (CAH) and the National Homelessness Initiative's Supporting Community Partnerships Initiative assists the HRM with financial support in carrying out this work.

This site includes the full text of HRM publications, useful fact sheets on core housing need and rental housing, and the full text of other documents on homelessness. From this web page one also has access to:
• The Housing and Homelessness Resource Guide: a guide to programs, services and information related to homelessness, affordable housing, and other quality of life issues provided by both government and non-government agencies and organizations;
• Housing Statistics: statistics and maps related to housing and homelessness in the HRM;
• Quality of Life Reporting System: Developed by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), the Quality of Life Reporting System (QOLRS) measures, monitors and reports on the quality of life in Canadian urban municipalities using data from a variety of national and municipal sources; and
• Where to Find Housing in HRM: rental listings; real estate information; co-operative housing; affordable/supportive housing associations.
