The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) has been the national voice of municipal government since 1901. With more than 1,600 members, FCM represents the interests of municipalities on policy and program matters that fall within federal jurisdiction. Members include Canada's largest cities, small urban and rural communities, and 18 provincial and territorial municipal associations. Municipal leaders from all parts of Canada assemble annually to establish FCM policy on key issues.

Documents are found in the Document Library.  The library is searchable by keyword, and can be filtered by category (About Us, Asia, Canadian Municipal Engagement, Case Studies, ICMD Country Profiles, Membership, Issues, Press Releases, Reports) and by date.  (NOTE:  This is currently under construction)

Most documents are available free in full text; however some are priced and must be ordered.

RSS feeds for careers, events, and news are available.

Note:  The FCM does have a library.  The collection held by the FCM library includes reference books, FCM publications and reports, reports by government and other external organizations, as well as minutes of meetings of the National Board of Directors. Topics covered include municipal infrastructure, municipal aboriginal relations, environmental and urban issues, and transportation. The collection is on labelled open shelves in the Library Board Room within the FCM offices and is available for consultation by staff and members. External clients can access the collection by appointment.   There is not library catalogue.
