The NHRC Fall 2011 Housing Data Working Group meeting was held on Monday morning, November 7th, 2011 at the Albert at Bay Suite Hotel, 435 Albert Street in Ottawa.

The Working Group co‐chairs, Robert Gagnon of Société d'habitation du Québec and Willa Rea of CMHC, opened the meeting. Sylvain Latour of the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat presented the Government of Canada's open data pilot project. This was followed by a presentation by Annie Giguère, Rémi Nadeau and Mélissa Laliberté of the Institut de la statistique du Québec who explored their organization's initiative on how to organize, improve access, and open data from Québec's various departments. The next presenter was Stéphane Leduc of Société d'habitation du Québec who presented research findings on the housing profiles of Québec and its regions. The next presenters, Wendy Watkins and Ernie Boyko from the Library Data Centre of Carleton University shared ways to enhance data availability including technical issues of standardization, retrieval, and flexibility of design.
