To represent non-profit housing to every level of government, to the public, and to other organizations, and to equip our members to speak on their own behalf
To promote housing excellence through training and education
To develop policy alternatives and innovative approaches to both housing management and the creation of new affordable housing
To strengthen each non-profit through our communications, networking, management advice and cost-saving programs
To research, track and analyze the current housing situation across Ontario
To develop pragmatic policy alternatives, and work with government to achieve equitable solutions
Unites 760 non-profit organizations providing housing in 220 communities across Ontario.
Members include municipal and private non-profits of all sizes, with all types of funding.
Residential Tenancies Act, asbestos management, budget guides, governance and corporate practices, Landlord and Tenant Board, advice for tenants, maintenance handbook, pest management, policies and procedures, Social Housing Reform Act, affordable housing policy, waiting list survey.
Provides specialized education, promotes housing management excellence.
Fosters strategic connections.
Hosts conferences and forums.
Presents occasional Position Papers to government decision-makers.
