Centre for Research on Inner City Health (CRICH), Keenan Research Centre, St. Michael’s Hospital (affiliated with the University of Toronto)
The research agenda is intervention-oriented, patient and population-focused and policy-sensitive.The overlapping population foci include: homeless and under-housed groups, urban aboriginals, women and children at risk, immigrants and refugees, people living with HIV/AIDS and people living with severe and persistent mental illness.
Our strategic objectives:
--To advance the conceptualization of inner city health
--To create knowledge about health issues affecting inner city populations
--To work with our community partners through such avenues as community-based participatory research
--To educate researchers in the field of inner city health and to develop research capacity through graduate training
--To support the translation of new knowledge about urban health into appropriate practices and policies

Workshops, discussions
Fields of research in publications do not seem to be housing-related: violence, HIV, mental health, diseases.
Among 16 researchers, three conduct housing-related research.
There is some work by James R. Dunn on neighborhoods, including two housing-related publications—“Does Affordable Housing Make us Healthier?” and “Effects of Re-Housing into Social Housing on Adult and Child Mental Health in the GTA West". Dunn is also co-investigator with David Hulchanski in a 5 year CURA project entitled, “Community gentrification and building inclusive communities from within: A case study of Toronto’s west-central neighborhoods”.
Stephen W. Hwang and Rosane Nisenbaum have research interests in housing and homelessness, but none of their publications are listed on the website.
