As part of the 20-year anniversary celebration of the NHRC in 2006, two documents were created:

• Twenty Years of Evolution and Influence : A history of NHRC activities and outcomes
• Summary of Proceedings: Providing a short summary of every NHRC meeting since its inception

That same year, the Committee expressed interest in exploring the network of housing researchers in Canada and identifying any gaps that need to be filled. It was also interested in avoiding duplication of effort and in establishing links between key research partners to increase capacity. In this light, it was suggested that a first step would be to make best efforts to take stock of who is doing what domestically in the housing research field (as a first priority) and in 2007 the Housing Researcher Mapping Project was completed.
